Narrativa

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, Olga Vasquez of San Antonio, Texas, peacefully passed away early Friday morning, December 14, 2018, at her home. Her loving husband of over 53 years, Leopoldo "Leo" R. Vasquez, Jr. (Colonel, US Army, ret.) was by her side. She was born January 25, 1945, in San Antonio, the first daughter of the late Arnulfo and Olga Cardenas. She attended Blessed Sacrament Academy and San Antonio College in San Antonio, later earning her Bachelor of Arts degree through Florida State University. Characteristically arriving late to an event, she caught the eye of the young Leo Vasquez. They married and Olga served with distinction as an Army Wife. Olga traveled the world over. Moving with her husband nearly thirty times, they lived across the United States and in Germany (twice), Nicaragua and Panama. Olga was the life of the party and loved hosting friends at her home. Her ability to throw together a spectacular last-minute gathering was renowned. Her warmth and cheerfulness were embracing to all. Lifelong friendships were spread around the world, and Olga's memory will endure in all that knew her.
Olga is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Leopoldo III (SuZanne), Daniel (Yoko), David (Monica), and her four wonderful grandchildren, Sofia, Dylan, Victoria and Hanna; her siblings, Pedro, Federico, Beatrice and Leticia; and her many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Arnulfo Jr.
